(3) The 1/4-inch-minus product shall have not more than 1 percent of material finer than No. 200 mesh sieve when tested in accordance with SS-R-406, method 202.11.
4.6.2.1.2 Capacity. Operate the unit for 40 hours net operating time, washing and screening the material specified in 4.6.2.1.1 (b) using the feeder assembly and a portable conveyor. Cumulative daily runs will be permissible in performing the test. Four sizes of material shall be produced: (a) 1-1/2-inch to 1-inch; (b) 1-inch to 1/2-inch; (c) 1/2-inch to 1/4-inch; and
(d) 1/4-inch-minus. Production of less than 75 tph as specified in 3.1.1 or evidence that any part
or component does not function as specified herein shall constitute failure of this test. Nonconformance to 3.18.2 and 3.18.2.3 shall constitute failure of this test.
4.6.2.2 Transportability tests. Tow the unit, with components removed to meet the requirement of 3.1.2 (f), as follows:
(a) 250 miles over highways with the M52 truck-tractor at speeds up to 30 mph. (b) 10 miles cross country with the M123 truck-tractor at speeds up to 10 mph.
(c) 250 miles over highways and 10 miles cross country with the dolly specified in 3.15 and the M51 dump truck ballasted as required to provide traction.
(d) Before any highway and cross-country tests are conducted, measure all critical mounting points on the unit. After all highway and cross-country tests are
completed, check the measurement of critical mounting points and inspect all welds.
(e) Tow over 6-inch high obstacles such that all left and right combinations of wheels have simultaneously passed over the obstacles. Observe tire-to-surface contact,
evidence of binding, or interference. After returning the unit to level ground, measure the diagonals and parallels for evidence of axle misalinement.
(f) Tow over V-ditches not less than 36 inches wide and 18 inches deep. Negotiate the ditches both perpendicular and at an angle of 45 degrees to the direction of travel.
(g) Measure and record the deviation or off-tracking of the semitrailer with respect to the dolly and to the prime movers when the semitrailer is towed straight ahead on a
paved surface.
(h) Ford the semitrailer through a body of water not less than 30 inches deep. While in
the water turn off the lights.
(i) Demonstrate brake system conformance to ICC regulations.
